As a bastard child resurfaced from the icy territories of Northern Europe, EMBRYONIC CELLS stands true to the first wave of Black Metal.
His weapons are those of his fathers, the riffs like a sharp blizzard, the voice a terror blown from the horn of the ancestors, the keyboards fall on the enemy like ghosts of ice with bewitched voices.
EMBRYONIC CELLS builds an epic landscape in an effective mix of Black and War Metal as « Horizon » recalls the magic of original, pure, intense, tragic and destructive Black Metal.

This album is condensed genius, a kind of dark prog epic that traverses many musical structures - one can sometimes hear hints of Iron Maiden, Amon Amarth and Dimmu Borgir, yet Shymlagoghnar has its own distinct sound. The themes relating to philosophy, the universe, civilization and entropy truly resonated with me and supplemented the virtuoso pieces "I am the Abyss", "The Cosmic Tide" with even more depth. Everything about this album fits together in a complex order.Thank you to the artists. Demiurgos
"Curse These Metal Hands" parlays the UK bands' chemistry into a record which—for all its tinnitus-inducing ferocity and elegiac arrangements—practically drips with transcendent joy. Bandcamp Album of the Day Aug 18, 2019
